Field Trip #8 – Love Creek Orchard and Farms
Medina Texas is home to a fairly remarkable and educational site, an apple orchard. Most are familiar with Washington State apples, and Texas peaches, oranges, and tangerines. But Texas apples? Medina is located about 50 miles west of San Antonio. One way from Austin took over 2 hours.

The day actually started the night before.

The tent is pitched (inside cause it’s cold outside), the sleeping bags are unrolled, and dad has everyone’s rapt attention.

And the next morning, mom gets us going.

That is a little creepy, but it is almost Halloween.

Fish anyone? (Notice the Tabasco bottle in front! Vintage Todd.)

You know, after harvest, it’s tough finding even 1 still on the tree.
The hay maze isn’t the challenge and crying fit it use to be.
